Haru-tsuge-gusa (the literally translation is a spring-telling grass) and Japanese people feel that spring is coming when they see ume blossoms in bloom.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u6885\u306f\u4e2d\u56fd\u3088\u308a\u65e5\u672c\u3078\u4f1d\u308f\u308a\u3001\u53e4\u6765\u3088\u308a\u65e5\u672c\u4eba\u306b\u611b\u3055\u308c\u3001\u685c\u3068\u4e26\u3073\u65e5\u672c\u306e\u4ee3\u8868\u7684\u306a\u82b1\u3067\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nUme blossoms, a representative flower in Japan as well as cherry blossoms, was introduced from China to Japan, and Japanese people have loved ume since old times.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u6885\u306e\u82b1\u5f01\u306f\u4e00\u91cd\u304b\u516b\u91cd\u3067\u3001\u6fc3\u6de1\u306e\u767d\u3001\u8d64\u3001\u30d4\u30f3\u30af\u8272\u3067\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nPetals of ume are single or double in various shades of white, red, or pink.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/?attachment_id=2649\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2649\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2649\" src=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/umematsuri08.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/umematsuri08.jpg 250w, https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/umematsuri08-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u65e5\u672c\u5168\u56fd\u306e\u5929\u6e80\u5bae\u306b\u306f\u6885\u306e\u6728\u304c\u690d\u3048\u3089\u308c\u3001\u305d\u306e\u591a\u304f\u3067\u6885\u306e\u82b1\u306e\u958b\u82b1\u6642\u671f\u306b\u5408\u308f\u305b\u3066\u6885\u796d\u308a\u304c\u958b\u50ac\u3055\u308c\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nUme trees are planted in the Temmangu Shrines throughout Japan, and Ume Festivals are held in most of them at blossoming time.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u5929\u6e80\u5bae\u306f\u83c5\u539f\u9053\u771f\u306e\u970a\u3092\u6170\u3081\u308b\u305f\u3081\u306b\u5275\u5efa\u3055\u308c\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<br \/>\nThe Temmangu Shrines were established for the consolation of Sugawara-no-Michizane\u2019s spirit.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u9053\u771f\u306f\u512a\u308c\u305f\u5b66\u8005\u3067\u3042\u308a\u6b4c\u4eba\u3067\u3042\u3063\u305f\u306e\u3067\u5b66\u554f\u306e\u795e\u69d8\u3068\u3057\u3066\u3082\u4fe1\u4ef0\u3055\u308c\u3001\u591a\u304f\u306e\u53d7\u9a13\u751f\u304c\u5929\u6e80\u5bae\u3078\u5408\u683c\u7948\u9858\u306b\u8a2a\u308c\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nAs Michizane was a great scholar and a great poet of Waka (a Japanese traditional poetry composed in 5-7-5-7-7 syllables), he has been worshiped as a scholarly deity, so many examination candidates visit the Temmangu Shrine to pray for success.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u5f53\u6642\u306e\u653f\u5e9c\u306e\u9ad8\u5b98\u3067\u3042\u3063\u305f\u9053\u771f\u306f901\u5e74\uff08\u5ef6\u559c\u5143\u5e74\uff09\u306b\u9670\u8b00\u306b\u3088\u308a\u90fd\u304b\u3089\u5927\u5bb0\u5e9c\u3078\u5de6\u9077\u3055\u308c\u30012\u5e74\u5f8c\u60b2\u61a4\u306e\u3046\u3061\u306b\u6700\u671f\u3092\u8fce\u3048\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nMichizane, a high official of the then government, was demoted from the capital to Dazaifu because of the intrigue in 901 (Engi 1st yr), and he passed away in indignation two years later.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u6885\u3092\u611b\u3057\u305f\u9053\u771f\u306f\u90fd\u3092\u96e2\u308c\u308b\u524d\u306b\u5ead\u306e\u6885\u306e\u6728\u306b\u3001\u300c\u6771\u98a8\uff08\u3053\u3061\uff09\u5439\u304b\u3070\u5302\u3072\u3092\u3053\u305b\u3088\u6885\u306e\u82b1\u3000\u4e3b\uff08\u3042\u308b\u3058\uff09\u306a\u3057\u3068\u3066\u6625\u306a\u5fd8\u308c\u305d\u300d\u3068\u77ed\u6b4c\u3092\u8a60\u307f\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<br \/>\nHe loved ume so much that he composed Waka for an ume tree in his garden before he left the capital;<br \/>\n\u201cKochi fukaba, nioi okoseyo, ume no hana, aruji nashitote, haruna wasureso\u201d.<br \/>\n(My dear ume tree, bloom with a sweet smell when the wind blows from the east. Don\u2019t forget to bloom in spring even if I leave you.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/?attachment_id=2650\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2650\"><img loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u305d\u306e\u6885\u304c\u9053\u771f\u3092\u8ffd\u3044\u3001\u4e00\u591c\u306b\u3057\u3066\u5927\u5bb0\u5e9c\u98db\u3093\u3067\u884c\u3063\u305f\u3068\u3044\u3046\u6709\u540d\u306a\u98db\u6885\u4f1d\u8aac\u304c\u3042\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nThe famous \u201cTobi-ume-densetsu\u201d (a legend of a flying-Japanese apricot tree) says that this ume flew to Dazaifu following Michizane in only one night.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c61000\u5e74\u4ee5\u4e0a\u7d4c\u3063\u305f\u73fe\u5728\u3082\u98db\u6885\u306f\u5fa1\u795e\u6728\u3068\u3057\u3066\u7940\u3089\u308c\u3001\u6bce\u6625\u3001\u7f8e\u3057\u3044\u82b1\u3092\u54b2\u304b\u305b\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nThough more than 1000 years have passed since then, the Tobi-ume is worshiped as a sacred tree still now, and it blooms beautifully every spring.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/?attachment_id=2651\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2651\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2651\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u592a\u5bb0\u5e9c\u5929\u6e80\u5bae\u3092\u59cb\u3081\u4eac\u90fd\u306e\u5317\u91ce\u5929\u6e80\u5bae\u3001\u6771\u4eac\u306e\u6e6f\u5cf6\u5929\u795e\u3001\u5c71\u53e3\u306e\u9632\u5e9c\u5929\u6e80\u5bae\u306a\u3069\u83c5\u539f\u9053\u771f\u3068\u7e01\u304c\u3042\u308b\u795e\u793e\u306e\u795e\u6587\u306b\u306f\u6885\u7d0b\u304c\u7528\u3044\u3089\u308c\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nThe crests of ume are used as heraldic symbols of the shrines, which are associated with Sugawara-no-Michizane, including Dazaifu Temmangu, Kitano Temmangu in Kyoto, Yushima Tenjin in Tokyo and Hofu Temmangu in Yamaguchi.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/?attachment_id=2643\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2643\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2643\" src=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/umematsuri02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u8328\u57ce\u770c\u306e\u6c34\u6238\u5055\u697d\u5712\u306b\u306f\u7d04110\u54c1\u7a2e\u30013000\u672c\u4ee5\u4e0a\u306e\u6885\u304c\u690d\u3048\u3089\u308c\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nAt Kairaku-en in Mito City of Ibaraki Prefecture, more than 3000 ume trees of about 110 varieties have been planted.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u5055\u697d\u5712\u306f\u77f3\u5ddd\u770c\u91d1\u6ca2\u5e02\u306e\u517c\u516d\u5712\u3068\u5ca1\u5c71\u770c\u5ca1\u5c71\u5e02\u306e\u5f8c\u697d\u5712\u3068\u4e26\u3073\u3001\u65e5\u672c\u306e\u4e09\u5927\u540d\u5712\u306e\u4e00\u3064\u3067\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nKairaku-en is one of the three great gardens of Japan along with Kenroku-en in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture and Koraku-en in Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c61842\u5e74\uff08\u5929\u4fdd13\u5e74\uff09\u6c34\u6238\u85e9\u7b2c\u4e5d\u4ee3\u85e9\u4e3b\u5fb3\u5ddd\u6589\u662d\u304c\u6c11\u3068\u5171\u306b\u697d\u3057\u3080\u305f\u3081\u306b\u958b\u5712\u3057\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<br \/>\nNariaki Tokugawa, the ninth feudal lord of the Mito Clan, built Kairaku-en in order to enjoy this garden with common people in 1842 (Tempo 13th yr).<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u5055\u697d\u5712\u306b\u306f\u56fd\u5185\u5916\u304b\u3089\u591a\u304f\u306e\u89b3\u5149\u5ba2\u304c\u8a2a\u308c\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u304c\u3001\u7279\u306b\u6885\u306e\u5b63\u7bc0\u306b\u306f\u3068\u3066\u3082\u6df7\u96d1\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nMany tourists both from home and abroad visit Kairaku-en, and especially in ume blossom seasons Kairaku-en is very crowded.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u5055\u697d\u5712\u306e\u6885\u307e\u3064\u308a\u3067\u306f\u91ce\u70b9\u8336\u4f1a\u3001\u7434\u3084\u5c3a\u516b\u306e\u6f14\u594f\u3001\u6885\u5a18\u3084\u6c34\u6238\u9ec4\u9580\uff08\u6c34\u6238\u85e9\u306e\u7b2c\u4e8c\u4ee3\u85e9\u4e3b\uff09\u306e\u4e00\u884c\u3068\u306e\u5199\u771f\u64ae\u5f71\u4f1a\u3001\u6885\u306e\u6728\u306e\u30e9\u30a4\u30c8\u30a2\u30c3\u30d7\u306a\u3069\u304c\u591a\u304f\u306e\u50ac\u3057\u304c\u884c\u308f\u308c\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nIn the Ume Festival of Kairaku-en, many events are held such as an open-air tea ceremony, performance of Koto (a Japanese stringed musical instrument) and shakuhachi (a Japanese bamboo flute), photo sessions with Ume Girls and a company of Mito Komon (the second feudal lord of the Mito Clan), and illumination of ume trees.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/?attachment_id=2642\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2642\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2642\" src=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/umematsuri01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u6885\u306f\u82b1\u3092\u697d\u3057\u3080\u3060\u3051\u3067\u306a\u304f\u3001\u5b9f\u3092\u6885\u5e72\u3057\u3001\u6885\u9152\u3001\u83d3\u5b50\u306a\u3069\u306b\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nPeople use ume fruit for ume-boshi (ume fruit pickles with peculiar sour flavor), ume-shu (ume liqueur), and sweets as well as enjoying blossoms.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u6885\u5e72\u3057\u306f\u4e00\u822c\u7684\u306b\u719f\u3057\u305f\u6885\u306e\u5b9f\u3092\u8d64\u7d2b\u8607\u3068\u5171\u306b\u7d041\u30f6\u6708\u5869\u6f2c\u3051\u306b\u3057\u305f\u5f8c\u30013\u65e5\u9593\u307b\u3069\u65e5\u5e72\u3057\u306b\u3057\u3066\u4f5c\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nA common recipe of ume-boshi is to pickle ripe ume fruit with salt and red perilla leaves for about 1 month and dry them for about 3 days.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u6885\u5e72\u3057\u306f\u98df\u7528\u5897\u9032\u3001\u75b2\u52b4\u56de\u5fa9\u3001\u89e3\u71b1\u52b9\u679c\u304c\u3042\u308a\u3001\u53e4\u304f\u304b\u3089\u6c11\u9593\u6cbb\u7642\u306b\u7528\u3044\u3089\u308c\u3066\u304d\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<br \/>\nUme-boshi has been used in folk remedies for the improvement of appetite, recovery from fatigue, and effectively reducing fever.<\/p>\n<p><a \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u304a\u304b\u3086\u3068\u6885\u5e72\u3057\u306f\u8179\u75db\u3084\u767a\u71b1\u3057\u305f\u6642\u306e\u5b9a\u756a\u30e1\u30cb\u30e5\u30fc\u3067\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nRice porridge with ume-boshi is a typical remedy for a stomachache or high fever.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u307e\u305f\u6297\u83cc\u3084\u9632\u8150\u306e\u305f\u3081\u306b\u304a\u5f01\u5f53\u306e\u3054\u98ef\u3084\u304a\u3080\u3059\u3073\u306b\u3057\u3070\u3057\u3070\u5165\u308c\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nUme-boshi is often put into rice in a lunch box or a rice ball for antibacterial and preservative effects.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/?attachment_id=2646\" rel=\"attachment
