\nThe Meiji-Maru, stopping only briefly in Hakodate, arrived safely in Yokohama on July 20th.<\/p>\n

\nThe purpose of Marine Day is \u201cto appreciate the benefits of the sea, and to pray for the prosperity of this seafaring country, Japan.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u25c62003\u5e74\uff08\u5e73\u621015\u5e74\uff09\u306b\u30cf\u30c3\u30d4\u30fc\u30de\u30f3\u30c7\u30fc\u3068\u547c\u3070\u308c\u308b\u65b0\u3057\u3044\u5236\u5ea6\u306b\u3088\u308a\u6d77\u306e\u65e5\u306f7\u6708\u306e\u7b2c3\u6708\u66dc\u65e5\u306b\u306a\u308a\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002
\nIn 2003 (Heisei 15th yr), Marine Day was moved to the third Monday of July, in accordance with a new system, called \u201cHappy Monday.\u201d<\/p>\n
