\/>\nIn Japan, according to the lunar calendar, the first day of each season has a name.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u6625\u306f\u7acb\u6625\u3001\u590f\u306f\u7acb\u590f\u3001\u79cb\u306f\u7acb\u79cb\u3001\u51ac\u306f\u7acb\u51ac\u3067\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nThe spring is Risshun, the summer is Rikka, the autumn is Risshu, and the winter is Ritto.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u571f\u7528\u3068\u306f\u7acb\u6625\u3001\u7acb\u590f\u3001\u7acb\u79cb\u3001\u7acb\u51ac\u306e\u524d\u306e18\u65e5\u9593\u306e\u3053\u3068\u3067\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nDoyo is celebrated 18 days before the start of each season (Risshun, Rikka, Risshu and Ritto).<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u3057\u304b\u3057\u73fe\u5728\u3067\u306f\u4e00\u822c\u306b\u571f\u7528\u3068\u8a00\u3048\u3070\u7acb\u79cb\u524d\u306e18\u65e5\u9593\u3092\u3055\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nNowadays, however, Doyo has come to mean the 18 days before Risshu.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u7acb\u79cb\u306f\u79cb\u306e\u59cb\u307e\u308a\u3067\u3001\u65e5\u672c\u3067\u306f\u305f\u3044\u304c\u3044\u4e00\u5e74\u3067\u4e00\u756a\u6691\u3044\u6642\u3067\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nRisshu is the beginning of autumn, and this is usually the hottest time of the year in Japan.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/?attachment_id=3017\" rel=\"attachment the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac are used to designate the days of the month.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u5341\u4e8c\u652f\u306f\u5b50\uff08\u9f20\uff09\u3001\u4e11\uff08\u725b\uff09\u3001\u5bc5\uff08\u864e\uff09\u3001\u536f\uff08\u514e\uff09\u3001\u8fb0\uff08\u7adc\uff09\u3001\u5df3\uff08\u86c7\uff09\u3001\u5348\uff08\u99ac\uff09\u3001\u672a\uff08\u7f8a\uff09\u3001\u7533\uff08\u733f\uff09\u3001\u9149\uff08\u9ce5\uff09\u3001\u620c\uff08\u72ac\uff09\u3001\u4ea5\uff08\u732a\uff09\u3067\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nThe Juni-shi signs are Ne (Rat), Ushi (Ox), Tora (Tiger), U (Rabbit), Tatsu (Dragon), Mi (Snake), Uma (Horse), Hitsuji (Sheep),\u3000Saru (Monkey), Tori (Chicken), Inu (Dog) and I (Wild Boar).<\/p>\n<p>\u25c618\u65e5\u306e\u9593\u306b1\u5ea6\u304b2\u5ea6\u4e11\u306e\u65e5\u304c\u3084\u3063\u3066\u304d\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nUshi-no-hi (the ox day) comes around once or twice during the 18-day Doyo period.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u4eba\u3005\u306f\u571f\u7528\u306e\u4e11\u306e\u65e5\u306b\u9c3b\u306e\u84b2\u713c\u3092\u98df\u3079\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nPeople eat unagi-no-kabayaki, an eel split and grilled with special teriyaki sauce on Doyo-no-ushi-no-hi.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u30bf\u30ec\u306f\u91a4\u6cb9\u3001\u307f\u308a\u3093\u3001\u9152\u3001\u7802\u7cd6\u3067\u4f5c\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nThis special teriyaki sauce is made from shoyu (soy sauce), mirin (sweet rice wine), sake (rice wine), and sugar.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/?attachment_id=3009\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3009\"><img 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u95a2\u6771\u3067\u306f\u9c3b\u306f\u80cc\u958b\u304d\u3001\u95a2\u897f\u3067\u306f\u8179\u958b\u304d\u306b\u3055\u308c\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nIn the Kanto district, the eel is cut lengthwise from the back side, and in the Kansai district, it is cut lengthwise from the stomach side.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u3053\u308c\u306f\u95a2\u6771\u304c\u6b66\u58eb\u306e\u4e2d\u5fc3\u5730\u3060\u3063\u305f\u304b\u3089\u3067\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nThis is because of the Samurai influence on the Kanto area culture.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u6b66\u58eb\u304c\u5207\u8179\u3092\u30a4\u30e1\u30fc\u30b8\u3059\u308b\u8179\u958b\u304d\u3092\u5acc\u3063\u305f\u304b\u3089\u3067\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nThe Samurai didn\u2019t like to cut the eels stomach because it recalled images of Seppuku (Hara-kiri); the Samurai\u2019s suicide ritual.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/?attachment_id=3018\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u9c3b\u306f\u3042\u307e\u308a\u5bb6\u3067\u306f\u6599\u7406\u3057\u306a\u3044\u3067\u3001\u305f\u3044\u3066\u3044\u713c\u304d\u3042\u304c\u3063\u305f\u3082\u306e\u3092\u8cb7\u3063\u3066\u6765\u308b\u304b\u3001\u304a\u5e97\u3067\u98df\u3079\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nPeople seldom cook eel at home, instead buying grilled eels from the shops or grocery stores or eat it at restaurants.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/?attachment_id=3019\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u9c3b\u306e\u84b2\u713c\u306b\u306f\u3057\u3070\u3057\u3070\u9999\u8f9b\u6599\u3068\u3057\u3066\u5c71\u6912\u306e\u7c89\u304c\u4f7f\u308f\u308c\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nThe powder of sansho (Sichuan pepper) is often used for unagi-no-kabayaki as a condiment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/?attachment_id=3014\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3014\"><img 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u9c3b\u306e\u3082\u3063\u3068\u3082\u4e00\u822c\u7684\u306a\u98df\u3079\u65b9\u306f\u9c3b\u4e3c\u3067\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nThe most popular way to eat eel is unagi-domburi (unagi-no-kabayaki over rice in bowl.)<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u3057\u3070\u3057\u3070\u809d\u5438\u3044\u3082\u9c3b\u306e\u84b2\u713c\u3068\u4e00\u7dd2\u306b\u98df\u3079\u3089\u308c\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nKimo-sui, clear soup made from eel liver, is often eaten with unagi-no-kabayaki.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u9c3b\u306f\u3068\u3066\u3082\u6804\u990a\u4fa1\u304c\u9ad8\u304f\u3001\u590f\u30d0\u30c6\u9632\u6b62\u306b\u306a\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nEel is very \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u571f\u7528\u306e\u4e11\u306e\u65e5\u306b\u9c3b\u306e\u84b2\u713c\u3092\u98df\u3079\u308b\u7fd2\u6163\u306f\u6c5f\u6238\u6642\u4ee3\uff081603\uff0d1867\uff09\u4e2d\u671f\u3088\u308a\u7d9a\u3044\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nThe custom of eating unagi-no-kabayaki on Doyo-no-ushi-no-hi has continued since the middle of the Edo era (1603-1867).<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u6c5f\u6238\u4e2d\u671f\u306e\u535a\u7269\u5b66\u8005\u3001\u6587\u82b8\u8005\u3001\u82b8\u8853\u5bb6\u3067\u3042\u3063\u305f\u5e73\u8cc0\u6e90\u5185\u306e\u767a\u6848\u3067\u3042\u3063\u305f\u3068\u8a00\u308f\u308c\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nGennai Hiraga, a naturalist, writer, and artist in the middle of the Edo era, is said to have started this tradition.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u590f\u5834\u306b\u9c3b\u306e\u58f2\u308a\u4e0a\u3052\u304c\u843d\u3061\u308b\u306e\u3067\u3001\u9c3b\u5c4b\u304c\u5e73\u8cc0\u6e90\u5185\u306b\u76f8\u8ac7\u3057\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<br \/>\nAn eel seller complained to Gennai Hiraga that he couldn\u2019t sell many eels during the summer.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u3059\u308b\u3068\u5e73\u8cc0\u6e90\u5185\u304c\u300c\u3051\u3075\uff08\u4eca\u65e5\uff09\u306f\u4e11\u306e\u65e5\u300d\u3068\u66f8\u3044\u3066\u9c3b\u5c4b\u306e\u5ba3\u4f1d\u306b\u3057\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<br \/>\nThen, Gennai Hiraga wrote \u201cToday is Ushi-no-hi\u201d and used it to advertise the eel shop.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/?attachment_id=3011\" rel=\"attachment \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u8fd1\u5e74\u3001\u5929\u7136\u306e\u9c3b\u306f\u3042\u307e\u308a\u7372\u308c\u306a\u304f\u306a\u308a\u3001\u5927\u534a\u306f\u990a\u6b96\u7269\u3067\u3059\u304c\u3001\u305d\u308c\u3067\u306f\u5024\u6bb5\u306f\u5e74\u3005\u4e0a\u304c\u3063\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nRecently, very few eels are caught in the wild; most are cultivated, and the price has been rising year by year.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u97d3\u56fd\u3001\u53f0\u6e7e\u3001\u4e2d\u56fd\u304b\u3089\u305f\u304f\u3055\u3093\u306e\u9c3b\u304c\u8f38\u5165\u3055\u308c\u308b\u3088\u3046\u306b\u306a\u308a\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<br \/>\nA great number of eels are imported from Korea, Taiwan, and China.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u65e5\u672c\u7523\u306e\u9c3b\u306e\u5024\u6bb5\u306f\u8f38\u5165\u7269\u306e\u7d042\u500d\u3067\u3059\u304c\u3001\u8f38\u5165\u7269\u3088\u308a\u4eba\u6c17\u304c\u3042\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nJapanese eels are more popular than imported ones though Japanese ones are twice as expensive as imported ones.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/azuregns.com\/year\/?attachment_id=3023\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u571f\u7528\u306e\u4e11\u306e\u65e5\u306b\u306f\u9c3b\u3060\u3051\u3067\u306a\u304f\u300c\u571f\u7528\u9905\u300d\u3068\u547c\u3070\u308c\u308b\u3042\u3093\u3053\u308d\u9905\u306a\u3069\u306e\u548c\u83d3\u5b50\u304c\u98df\u3079\u3089\u308c\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nPeople eat \u201cDoyo-mochi\u201d (Japanese rice cake for Doyo-no-ushi-no-hi) such as Ankoro-mochi (a rice cake covered with anko, sweetened bean-paste) as well as eel on Doyo-no-ushi-no-hi.<\/p>\n<p>\u25c6\u5730\u65b9\u306b\u3088\u3063\u3066\u306f\u3001\u3053\u306e\u65e5\u306b\u300c\u571f\u7528\u8706\u300d\uff08\u3069\u3088\u3046\u3057\u3058\u307f\uff09\u3092\u98df\u3079\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\nIn some regions, \u201cDoyo-shijimi\u201d (Japanese small freshwater clams for Doyo-no-ushi-no-hi) is also eaten on this day.<\/p>\n<p><a
