How to make TERU-TERU-BOZU

(1)\u00a0 Use some pieces of tissue, white paper or white cloth such as a handkerchief.\u00a0 When hanging one outside, use some cloth.
\n(2)\u00a0 Round 1 or 2 pieces of (1) to make an inside of the head.\u00a0 A ping-pong ball can be used instead.
\n(3)\u00a0 Put (2) in the center of a piece of (1).
\n(4)\u00a0 Cover (2) with a piece of (1).
\n(5)\u00a0 Make a neck with your fingers.
\n(6)\u00a0 Wind a rubber band or a string around the neck several times.
\n(7)\u00a0 Fasten a rubber band or a string.
\n(8)\u00a0 Draw a face.\u00a0 Use a permanent marker when hanging one outside.\u00a0 Some draw a face only when it is clear.
\n(9)\u00a0 Finished.\u00a0 Hang (8) from the top of the head with a string by the window on the day before you expect clear weather.<\/p>\n

When TSUYU is drawing near, special corners of umbrellas, raincoats and rain shoes open in department stores and supermarkets.

\n\uff08\u5199\u771f\u306e\u53f3\u306e\u5217\u306e\uff093\u679a\u306e\u5357\u753b\u306f\u7fa9\u6bcd\u304c\u6885\u96e8\u3092\u984c\u6750\u306b\u63cf\u304d\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002

In TSUYU, a big frog with an umbrella welcome visitors at the hall of my house.
\nMy mother-in-law drew three pictures (in the right side of the pictures above) that deal with TSUYU.
\nThey are \u2018Rain and a Snail\u2019, \u2018Hydrangea\u2019 and \u2018A Firefly\u2019 from the top to the bottom.<\/p>\n

One of the worrying matters for baseball fans is the weather.
\nThe Koshien Baseball Stadium, the Tigers\u2019 home, is not a domed one, so the Tigers\u2019 fans especially worry about the weather.
\nOn this day in the middle of TSUYU, the Tigers\u2019 game in Koshien was unfortunately cancelled due to rain.<\/p>\n

My house is located rather near a big river.
\nDuring the past years, the area I live has not suffered from flooding, but I am still anxious about torrential rain due to global warming, especially in the rainy season.
\nAs the proverb goes, \u2018Providing is preventing.\u2019 I am always preparing for flooding: storing books and documents on the second floor, placing cultivation planters in the garden for using sandbags in need and storing water and food.<\/p>\n
